These plans were released on 19th July and made available for comments online on 20th July. Now is the time to make your opinions heard. Plans will be finalized in August before being put to a vote at the BOCC.

Survey responses on Burney Beach Park:
53% of respondents visit weekly; 21% monthly
77% access by car; 31% walk; 22% bike
Most respondents like that Burney Beach Park is quiet, less crowded, & has updated facilities.
Most respondents like how the park is currently (no dislikes) or dislike how close the on-beach parking is to the beach park.
Most respondents noted liking the general beach day activities for defining Burney Beach Park: swimming in, sunbathing, fishing, gatherings, shelling, walking the beach, etc..
Many respondents like the existing park, but quite a few would like to see fewer cars (on the beach) and increased surveillance
The main changes proposed in the Design Focus for Burney Beach Park:
Add a roundabout and pedestrian pathway to American Beach Community
Introduce ROW parking along Burney Road
Reduce parking inside the park
Add pavilions and play spaces inside the park
Increase shade landscape at parking
